Yoga is for everybody

200hr yoga teacher training teachers at Setu Studio, Clarenbridge Galway

At Setu, we believe yoga should be accessible, welcoming and rooted in community. Our teacher training is built around the same approach we bring to the studio: creating space for people of different ages, bodies, abilities and backgrounds to explore the practice without feeling that they need to fit a particular idea of what a yogi should look like.

Accessibility isn’t a separate module of the training. It’s woven throughout the programme. You’ll learn how to adapt practices, explore different ways of moving and teach in a way that meets people where they are, rather than asking them to fit a predetermined shape.

The training is led by Setu founder Siobhán Moylan, alongside Kelly Marie Mills and Anita Kerins, bringing together different areas of experience across yoga teaching, Ayurveda, meditation, anatomy, physiotherapy and therapeutic movement. Together, they’ll share the practical skills of teaching and the deeper study that sits behind the practice.

You don’t need to be the most flexible person in the room. You don’t need to have everything figured out. You need curiosity, a willingness to learn and a genuine interest in understanding yoga more deeply.

  • "My 200hr teacher training with Setu was a wonderful experience. Siobhan, Anita and Kelly are a wealth of knowledge and I felt that my learning was really well supported by them all. I am so grateful to them for offering this experience. I especially appreciate that there was plenty of time spent practicing actual teaching rather than just theory and there was a strong focus on adapting the practice to be accessible and inclusive for everybody."

  • "I loved this course. Each weekend was like a mini retreat! Movement and practice, wonderful friends and community, delicious food, held in the space and progressing more each time. We learned how to teach Yoga, we practiced teaching each other from very early in the course. There was time for discussion and for practice. Anatomy and Physiology, Asana practice, History and Philosophy, all delivered by expert tutors. We were encouraged to incorporate Yoga in our lives, to bring Yoga off the mat, to grow in confidence and in our own practice. It is a wonderful course, I highly recommend it to anyone looking to do their 200 hour training."

Frequently asked questions

Do I need previous yoga experience to apply?

Yes. We recommend that students have an established yoga practice before beginning the training. As a general guideline, around 1-2 years of consistent practice helps provide a strong foundation for the physical, philosophical, and teaching elements of the course. If you’re unsure whether the training is the right fit for your experience level, we encourage you to get in touch.

Do I need to be flexible or advanced at yoga?

Not at all. This training is built around the belief that yoga should be accessible to all bodies, not just the flexible or highly advanced. Many students join with injuries, limitations, or areas of stiffness and build strength, confidence, and understanding throughout the year.

Do I need previous teaching experience?

No. The training is designed to take you through the foundations of teaching, from sequencing and cueing to practice teaching and receiving feedback. You don’t need to have taught a yoga class before.

Can I take just one weekend?

Yes. Each of the seven weekends can be booked independently for €450. They’re designed as complete 30-hour courses, so you can choose a weekend based on the area you’d most like to explore.

Can I start with an individual weekend and later do the full training?

Yes. If you decide to continue with the full 200-hour training, the amount you’ve already paid for completed individual weekends will be deducted from the €2,600 programme fee.

What happens between the training weekends?

The learning continues between weekends through guided reading and self-study, home practice, recommended assignments, two complimentary yoga classes with Siobhán each month and the trainee WhatsApp group. There are also optional Integration Days throughout the programme.

What are the Integration Days?

Integration Days are optional additional training days held between the main weekends. They run from 9am–5pm and provide extra time for practice, reflection and learning. Where appropriate, they can also be used to make up missed contact hours.

The planned dates are 14 November 2026, 17 April 2027, 14 August 2027 and 2 December 2027.

Can I do the training if I work full-time?

The weekend format is designed to make the training manageable alongside work and other commitments. Each core weekend runs from Friday to Sunday, with learning and practice continuing between weekends.

You’ll need to be able to attend the required training hours and keep up with the work between weekends. If you need to miss a Friday you can make up for the hours with one of the four Integration Days.

How much practice is expected between training weekends?

We recommend maintaining a regular personal practice throughout the year, as this will help you absorb the material and build confidence in both your teaching and understanding of the practice. As part of the training, you’ll also receive two complimentary classes per month with Siobhán, and trainees are encouraged to attend regularly throughout the year.

What style of yoga will I be trained to teach?

The training takes a broad approach to yoga rather than focusing on one single style. You’ll explore asana, pranayama, meditation, restorative yoga, accessible movement, anatomy, philosophy and teaching methodology, with a strong emphasis on adapting practices to the people you’re teaching.

Will there be opportunities to practise teaching?

Yes. Teaching practice is integrated throughout the training, helping you gradually build confidence through peer teaching, sequencing exercises, group work, and practical teaching assessments across the year.

At the end of the training, each trainee will teach a full one-hour community class open to real students, giving you the opportunity to put everything you’ve learned into practice. This class will be observed by one of the lead teachers as part of your final teaching assessment, ensuring you feel prepared and confident stepping into teaching after graduation.

Is this training suitable if I don’t want to teach professionally?

Yes. You don’t have to be certain that you want to teach professionally. The training can also be a way to deepen your own understanding and practice of yoga.

If you’re interested in a particular area rather than the full qualification, you can also take an individual weekend.

How is the course assessed?

Assessment takes place gradually throughout the training and includes teaching practice, participation, anatomy assignments, and a final teaching assessment where you teach a full 1hr class to the community. The emphasis is on developing confidence, understanding, and safe teaching skills over time.

How many students are accepted onto the training?

Places are intentionally limited to help create a supportive and personalised learning environment. For the next training, we are expecting between 10 and 15 students.

Is the training Yoga Alliance certified?

Yes. This is a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certified training, allowing graduates to register with Yoga Alliance and teach internationally upon completion.

What if I need to miss a weekend?

Attendance is an important part of the training. If you know you’ll need to miss time, speak to the Setu team as soon as possible. The optional Integration Days may provide an opportunity to make up missed contact hours where appropriate.
